A three part, invite-only supper series in the Commons to support Western Hills Garden

Three local chefs.
Three local wineries.
Three evenings.
Join us for one or come to all three.

  • Rob Fecteau

    Chef - 8/22

Robert is founder and former owner of the wildly-successful Birch Tree Bread Company in Worcester, MA. He has been in the restaurant industry since age 15, recently working at Lord Stanley in SF and the Lodge at Marconi in Marshall. Robert’s pasion is to connect farms and communities.

  • Lee Desrosiers

    Chef - 9/5

Lee Desrosiers lives in Sonoma County, close to the abundant sea, forests and farms of Northern California which inform his cooking. He brings 10 plus years experience from kitchens in New York City, Sonoma and Martha’s Vineyard. He was notably plucked to lead the kitchen at Brooklyn’s Achilles which led to much acclaim and a serious following for his “Hell Chicken”. He currently works as a private caterer and pop-up chef with the aim of supporting small farms and classic seasonal cooking.

  • Andrea Blum

    Chef - 10/11

Andrea is a mama/writer/artist/ cook/ and author fascinated by food, art, craft and those who make it. She currently works as a chef at the Occidental Art and Ecology Center and does private catering specializing in intimate, artful and handmade culinary experiences through her business My American Pantry. She often forages for wild things and sources from those she knows who grow and farm with care. She has been a chef in residence at Montalvo Art Center and Culinary Director at Bloomfield Farms.

  • Chappellet

    Wine Partner - 8/22

Chappellet is recognized as one of the great Napa Valley wineries, and one of the few which remains family owned. Today, the second generation is committed to continuing the vision of their parents, Donn and Molly Chappellet. Molly is an avid gardener and knew Western HIlls Garden founder’s, Lester Hawkins and Marshall Olbrich, which makes this partnership particularly special.

Sitting high up on Napa’s Pritchard Hill, Chappellet’s distinctive terroir presents a variety of elevations, exposures and soil structures offering unique growing environments. Since its first vintage in 1968, Chappellet has consistently set the standard for mountain grown wines of rare depth, longevity and elegance.

  • Ryme

    Wine Partner - 9/5

Ryme Cellars is a collaboration of husband and wife with old world sensibilities, as well as admiration for California’s terroir and sunny disposition.

Their portfolio of wines has grown gradually and organically since 2007, beginning with a single ton of Aglianico. They are committed to making wine from conscientiously farmed organic or sustainable vineyards.

They are one of the few wineries to use Italian varieties of grapes simply because of the great diversity and unique character of the wines of that culture.

  • Arnot-Roberts

    Wine Partner - 10/11

Arnot-Roberts was founded in Healdsburg in 2001 by childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts. Beginning with one barrel of wine made in their basement, the winery started small and grew slowly by sourcing grapes from some of the most remarkable vineyards in California.

Single-vineyard wines are the core of the production as well as a few appellation bottlings that clearly speak of their individual upbringings.

  • Garden wandering, delicious local food, local wine, n/a beverages, camaraderie, an intimate experience at Western Hills, and the warm feeling of supporting a West Sonoma County nonprofit thrive. The October (part three) supper will have some extra special surprises.

  • Occidental and the surrounding areas have a number of lodging possibilities.

    • The Occidental Lodge, a simple 1970s style motor lodge right on Bohemia Highway in Occidental.

    • The Inn at Occidental, a quaint bed & breakfast just a block up the hill from town.

    • The Valley Ford Hotel, a historic hotel with modern amenities at competitive prices about 8 miles from Occidental.

    • The River Electric, a new camp resort and swim club getting a lot of hype in Guernville about 11 miles from Occidental.

  • We will have people in the parking lots to help manage parking. The main WHG lot can hold about 10 cars. Overflow parking is on the property above the garden with an interior path connecting the properties. Don’t walk on the road! And please be careful pulling in and out.

  • We will do our best to accomodate all dietary restrictions but sometimes it’s hard with family style dining. We will have a vegetarian/vegan option.

  • Reach out to us at [email protected]. We will get back to you as soon as possible!

  • There are many ways to support our work. Become a member. Make a donation. Look out for our Fall online auction. Make introductions to folks you think would be interested in knowing about our work. Visit as often as you can!
