Rainwater Harvesting Community Workshop

  • Western Hills Garden 16250 Coleman Valley Road Occidental United States (map)

Come to Western Hills Garden to learn about rainwater harvesting and how you can use this vital resource for irrigation purposes.

This workshop is proudly presented by Conservation Works through the Rain Catchers in Your Neighborhood program, funded by the CDFW Wildlife Conservation Board Block Grant Reducing Drought Impacts in California.

Through this program, Conservation Works has installed eight 5,000-gallon rainwater tanks at community sites, provided ten additional 5,000-gallon tanks to local residents, and supported the development of a 400,000-gallon rainwater collection system—all located within critical salmonid-bearing streams of the Russian River and Navarro River Watersheds.

As a Conservation Works grantee, Western Hills Garden will help reduce streamflow diversions during the driest months of the year by collecting and using captured rainwater for irrigation. This simple shift supports healthier, more natural flow patterns in the Dutch Bill Creek Watershed, providing vital benefits to the survival and growth of salmon and steelhead trout during their most vulnerable seasons.

Free to attend. Space limited.
